The SOAP infoset used by the FIX transport uses CDATA tags to wrap the message field content. But in reality most field content simply consist of numbers and letters (non-XML). Therefore use of CDATA poses some additional overheads on the message processing. Hence we should not be using CDATA tags by default. Rather it should be an optional feature of the transport.
