Possible spam on Felix Users List

Hi all,

Over on the users(at)felix list we have had (at least) three possible
spam messages with ids:

  AANLkTinkGi_xFS1-=Sfjo=ori6EiTcSDG9sFG+krEDid@mail.gmail.com
  AANLkTinAJE7U3cNiuTgQusK_KMQ=4MbTqo8iccK4Td-4@mail.gmail.com
  AANLkTimgzeaW4YFT--XvuPonb6D7GVm5ssQ_HveXGSk6@mail.gmail.com

Can there be done something on our (Apache) side or where should we go
with this stuff ?

Thanks for any help.

Regards
Felix

Hi Gav

thanks for the quick reply.

The problem is -- at least for two of the messages -- that they
originate from an approved committer subscribed to the list for quite
some time. So I would assume these messages will probably go through
through moderation at all.

But what you say is, that the Apache operated spam checker cannot do
anything with these mails -- probably because they have already been
identified as "valid" by previous checkers for because they have been
sent from a "clean" sending system ?

Regards
Felix

You have 5 moderators for that list.

Your moderators are letting these emails through and subscribing the users.

Tell you moderators to get a clue and actually check the moderation requests
before they approve them.

Your moderators can also ban the users email addresses from the lists.

Time to speak to your moderators or get new ones, infrastructure team does
not look after spam for all the projects lists, the projects do.
