revision-preview 999

hi again,

thanks for the 777-feedback yesterday!

there was only one major problem in ns4.08 for windows 98.

however the 777-code wasn't HTML 4.01 valid, see reason below. [im not close
to my usual html tools ATM, sorry].

so now another revision.
to cut to the bone plase check two things:

url
http://www.bullitt.suite.dk/mod_perl_site/display/999.html
[that html and stylesheet is 100% correct according to the w3c validators.]

1) does the light-blue "camel-line" at the top sit correctly [win/IE5
might render this 1px too high]?

2) are there too much white-space anywhere in the search-widget at the
left?
2b) does the select box or any of the form input elements look bizarre/bad?

macintosh 9
IE 4.5 +1
IE 5.0 +1
NS 4.5 +1
NS 6.2 +1
NS 7.0pr1 +1
OPERA 5.0 +1

windows 98
IE 5.5 +1
NS4.08 +1

if you notice any problems, then you might try

http://www.bullitt.suite.dk/mod_perl_site/display/444.html
http://www.bullitt.suite.dk/mod_perl_site/display/555.html
http://www.bullitt.suite.dk/mod_perl_site/display/666.html
http://www.bullitt.suite.dk/mod_perl_site/display/777.html
or
http://www.bullitt.suite.dk/mod_perl_site/display/888.html

to see if the problems exist there as well

thanks again
./allan

regarding html validation problem [http://www.bullitt.suite.dk/mod_perl_site/display/777.html]:

as you probably have gathered there are some browsers [windows2000/IE5
and Mozilla various OS] misbevaing with the rendering of our fake
transparent space-gif, we do by using a <br class="smallbr" id="sbr"> trick.

that validation is fixable by assigning _unique_ id's to every <br
class="smallbr"> tag.
so its fixable but extremely impractible

i have found a about 30-byte larger solution that is just as perfect at
least on the +1 browsers/platforms mentioned above.

that soloution is implemented in
http://www.bullitt.suite.dk/mod_perl_site/display/999.html
