The following is the draft for this month's report.

## Description:
The mission of ORC is the creation and maintenance of software related to
the smallest, fastest columnar storage for Hadoop workloads.

## Issues:
There are no issues that require board attention.

## Membership Data:
Apache ORC was founded 2015-04-21 (6 years ago)
There are currently 43 committers and 12 PMC members in this project.
The Committer-to-PMC ratio is roughly 3:1.

Community changes, past quarter:
- No new PMC members. Last addition was Panagiotis Garefalakis on
2021-02-01.
- No new committers. Last addition was Jeongseok Hyun on 2021-04-13.

## Project Activity:
The community released new maintenance versions and entered into a
ramp-down phase for 1.7.0.
- Apache ORC 1.6.8 was released on 2021-05-21.
- Apache ORC 1.6.9 was released on 2021-07-02.
- branch-1.7 branch was created for Apache ORC 1.7.0 QA and release
preparation.
- The version of main branch is 1.8.0-SNAPSHOT now.

Apache ORC PMC started to discuss a rotation of the chair of PMC.

## Community Health:
Although the mailing lists had decreases in traffic in the past quarter,
all JIRA/Commit/GitHub PR activities were increased as a part of release
preparation.

JIRA activity
- 62 issues opened in JIRA, past quarter (21% increase)
- 49 issues closed in JIRA, past quarter (16% increase)

Commit activity
- 92 commits in the past quarter (12% increase)
- 18 code contributors in the past quarter (5% increase)

GitHub PR activity
- 65 PRs opened on GitHub, past quarter (8% increase)
- 58 PRs closed on GitHub, past quarter (3% increase)
