[jira] [Resolved] (SQOOP-431) Support the staging-table option in PostgreSQL

Jarek Jarcec Cecho resolved SQOOP-431.
--------------------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

Generic JDBC Manager do not supports staging table as it's hard to create temporary table on generic level or move data to final table in optimal way.

There is special connector for PostgreSQL that is supporting staging table and should be used in this case.

I'm closing this issue as "Won't fix" for now, however please do not hesitate to reopen it if needed.

> Using the GenericJdbcManager while running a Sqoop export from HDFS to PostgreSQL and using the --staging-table option gives the below error:
> ERROR tool.ExportTool: Error during export: The active connection manager (org.apache.sqoop.manager.GenericJdbcManager) does not support staging of data for export. Please retry without specifying the --staging-table option.
> PostgreSQL should support the staging-table option.
