Hadoop crashing on start up

Hello,
I am a new user to Hadoop.  I installed both version 1.1.2 and 1.2 and am seeing the same problem.
I have been using jdk1.6.0_29, but have tried others like jdk1.6.0_31, jdk1.6.0_35 and jdk1.6.0_45
Essentially when I when I run the hadoop on Linux on Pseudo-Distributed Mode after running start-all.sh my TaskTracker and DataNode Node don't start up, bothe crash with a JVM error around the Classloader.
