[jira] [Commented] (HELIX-209) Verify backward compatibility of 0.7.0

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HELIX-209?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13798349#comment-13798349 ]

Kanak Biscuitwala commented on HELIX-209:
-----------------------------------------

There are a few backward compatibility issues to be aware of:

- HelixAdmin APIs should still work
- HelixManager APIs should still work
- model package classes should not have any changed or deleted functions
- existing and new tests should all pass

There is a question of whether or not we should support the old Rebalancer interface that still needs to be resolved.

> Check that the changes in 0.6.2 are either fully backward compatible, or there are changes in place to allow helix-managed clusters to upgrade smoothly.
