   I think some options to address this are:
   1. document references to become your own signing authority (https://letsencrypt.org/docs/certificates-for-localhost/#making-and-trusting-your-own-certificates)
   2. enable http again / stop redirecting to https
   3. use standalone openwhisk which has http mode
   
   I'm going to close as won't fix, using this issue as a future reference.
