JDBC Adapters by ServiceMix

Hi ,
I am working in a project in which we need a JDBC adapter to connect to
relational databases.
Going through the various components provided by Servicemix it is very
difficult to find out how this ESB performs JDBC connection to database.

Please help me to find out the component responsible for JDBC connection
acting like a JDBC adapter.
and is it synchronous/asynchronous?
