bug fix release

I'm going to try to do bug fix releases frequently as long as there
are major bugs for 1.9.x that I can fix. Having made the 1.9
release branch in cvs, this is fairly easy to do. If anyone fixes a
bug from 1.9, please make the fix in both the main branch and in
the v1_9_branch release branch. I'll try to make the releases on
the weekends.

Right now, there's a new 1.9.1 release out which fixes the
cookiemanager problem and some minor gui problems.

Hi Archana

You can use the Post Processor regular extractor to parse and store the id
value to a j-meter variable from the response. Then you can use the j-meter
variable in the sub sequent pages.

Dynamically getting a value

Posted by Archana Bharathidasan <ar...@yahoo.com>.
Hi,

I use badboy to record a sequence of actions in a
web-application and export the script to JMeter. One
of the actions is selecting a database to be deleted
from a drop-down list. Each database is associated
with an unique id. The problem is, when the script is
generated, the unique id is hardcoded into the script.
Currently, I am able to look at the parameters in the
JMeter panel and change the id manually so that the
script works correctly. Is there some way I can
instruct JMeter to dynamically retrieve the id each
time instead of using the value in the script?

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Archana

not sure what you mean about js stuff htat looks like a reaload, but the
child windows all make requests to the same server ... there are a total

ohh that makes sense .... we might buy a plugin that does that, depends
on the pricing.

Is there javascript stuff going on that looks like a page reload but really isn't? Do the child
windows make requests to the same server?

No, if I could write code that could break ssl encryption and allow me to decode into plain text
what was sent (and thus record your browser's requests), I'd be getting big prizes in the
computing world.

However, I could develop a commercial plugin for JMeter that could include a full-featured
embedded browser in JMeter that would enable recording https sessions. The question is,
how many people/companies would buy it?

No, if I could write code that could break ssl encryption and allow me to decode into plain text
what was sent (and thus record your browser's requests), I'd be getting big prizes in the
computing world.

Hi Luke,

If you are using a Win32 platform then you might like to try using Badboy:

 http://www.badboy.com.au

It should record the popup windows and https requests, and you can save the
file in JMeter format using the "Export to JMeter" option.

Note the saved jmeter format is being significantly improved in the 1.3-beta-3
release which should be happening this weekend, or shortly thereafter.

Cheers,

Simon Sadedin.

i am trying to record a browser session where the main window pops up
several child windows. the recorder seems to record everything in the

that the child windows all have the correct proxy settings.

a separate problem i am having involves trouble getting the recorder to
record a session using https. i am able to work around by recording in
http and then changing the script settings to use https, but would
rather not have to do this. is there a way to make jmeter record https?
