now let's discuss about ideas of solutions:
I suppose we can add XML attribute(s) to each of the 5 inherited URLs to customize inheritance behaviour (IIRC, this will be compatible with old Maven version or with repository managers, since they are supposed to simply ignore XML attributes)

then which attributes names, values, and semantics?

simple option: {{child.inherit.append.path}}: boolean, default value=true
will apply on childs when inheriting from current POM (because applying on current pom when inheriting from its parent does not really have any meaning, since configuration will override value instead of inheriting)
