[users@httpd] mandriva 2008 mod_rewrite problem

Hello All ,

I have installed detailed mandriva 2008 using Howtofogre tutorial .

But we are using mandriva apache web sever for some students to check
their php web pages .

they said mod_rewrite url facility is not working .

early we had fedora and Now we completely migrated to mandriva on all 50
machines.

any guess , what i need to do in my mandriva apache configuration So
that they can test their college work of php sites.

I have following things enabled.
====================
httpd.conf
================
LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so

and below is the site contains their rules. and having lots of lines but
one with rewrite enabled.

#vi /var/www/html/livecollege/.htaccess

RewriteEngine on

their rules etc.

Now what i am missing.

Thanks
