getting rid of the initial redirect

Hi there! (and happy holidays!)

I have a problem - when users go to my site, they generally go to
www.mysite.com, but then they have to get redirected to
www.mysite.com/myservlet/Home.do.  I'd like for them to be able to see the
home page without having to be redirected, but I can't figure out how to do
this without having Tomcat serve the static files too (which, I've been
told, is undesirable because it's slower).

I have a pretty vanilla setup - Apache, Tomcat, Struts.  I use the JK2
connector to pass through requests from Apache to Tomcat.

Is there a particular setup which would make this work?
