Password protected distributions

I have a Java application I wrote in NetBeans IDE 8.2 (Build 201609300101) with Gradle that is ready for internal distribution.  As an internal only application I would like to password protect the generated tar and zip files.  Is it possible for Netbeans to do this automatically?
