Upgrade schema version 3 to schema version 5

Hi,

on our system, we have some old subversion repositories (schema version
3). I would like to convert these repositories to the current schema
version 5
and integrate them in our svn server.

Is it really necessary to use an old svnadmin to create the repository
dumps?

http://svn.collab.net/repos/svn/trunk/notes/repos_upgrade_HOWTO
mentions, that new versions of svn are able to operate on old repository
schemas. Still it tells to use an old version of svnadmin to create the
repository dump.

Regards,

  Torsten
