[jira] Created: (ARCHETYPE-91) create is prompting for a package
create is prompting for a package
---------------------------------
Key: ARCHETYPE-91
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/ARCHETYPE-91
Project: Maven Archetype
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Generator
Affects Versions: NG-1.0-alpha-1
Reporter: Brian Fox
shouldn't the package type of the created project be the same as the one in the archetype? It doesn't make sense to take a war, make an archetype and then allow the user to generate it as a jar.

Brian Fox commented on ARCHETYPE-91:
------------------------------------
it seems that the confusion is around using "packaging" both in the maven context and in the java package. I think if the prompt said "Java Package" it would be less confusing.

Yes that sounds like a good idea. Anything we can do to make it more user (newbie) friendly.

For me, "java package" would be more clear.
