   @joerghoh [this](https://github.com/apache/sling-org-apache-sling-scripting-core/blob/master/src/main/java/org/apache/sling/scripting/core/impl/ServiceCache.java) is basically what is needed here,  the better solution is to extract the Service Cache into its own bundle and then refactor sling scritpint to use the ServiceCache from the newly refactored bundle and similarly here reference it in this Sling Models codebase as well. But this is a larger effort and would require someone who can create repositories on behalf of Sling project to do so.
