Unable to login Turbine DataManager

My apologies for this novice question.

I have downloaded the Turbine and installed it according to the
instructions available in the distribution.  The tables and sample
application seems to have created properly.  However, I am not able to
connect using the url suggested in the documentation
(http://localhost:8080/newapp/servlet/newapp).  I was prompted for the
user id and password but I could not login using turbine / turbine.  It
just displays "Error"  without any detail indication of the error.  I
checked the tables and the turbine user id has been created properly in
the database.  I am running on Win2K/JDK 1.3.1/Tomcat4.0.  Can anyone
give me some clues.

Check the tubine.log in newapp/logs for a detailed trace of your error.
That should point you in the right direction.
