Re: nodeps jar

Hmm... nobody knows about (1) and nobody minds about (2)? Going once...

I'm curious why the launcher classes are in this jar. Do they really need to be?

Additionally, any arguments against "moving" (while retaining API BC) some of the always-available "optional" tasks e.g. echoproperties to oata.taskdefs?

I'm building/using ant-nodeps.jar without launcher classes for some time
and didn't run into troubles, so I suppose they are not used. It's just
unneeded duplication that nobody noticed, it seems.

Dangerous and/or just kind of weird. :) I can check
whether the launcher classes are used. Even if this
is the case, however, ant-core uses launcher classes
and doesn't duplicate them in the jar. ant.jar
requires ant-launcher.jar, so I don't see why
ant-nodeps.jar shouldn't do the same.

Exactly.

I do not have a clue. I suppose you mean this is a potentially dangerous
duplication ? May be the launcher classes are called from some of the
optional nodeps tasks.
