> BUILDING.txt is missing some information about native compression libraries.  Noticeably if you are missing zlib/bzip2/snappy devel libraries, those will get silently skipped unless you pass the {{-Drequire.$LIB}} option (e.x. {{-Drequire.snappy}}).
