[jira] Created: (MNG-2818) maven 2 requires a UTF-8 locale to build properly

maven 2 requires a UTF-8 locale to build properly
-------------------------------------------------

                 Key: MNG-2818
                 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNG-2818
             Project: Maven 2
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Errors
    Affects Versions: 2.0.4
Environment: Gentoo Linux, PowerPC, IBM JDK 1.5 (binary)
            Reporter: Nathan Smith
         Attachments: qaTsDm28.txt

When I was building Apache's dbutils with maven 2, I ran into a problem with pom.xml parsing. It turns out that the problem is due to me not having a UTF-8 locale. I've worked around it, but I thought you might like to know (either to change that or for the sake of documentation). Thanks!
