use cases of zookeeper..
Is there a good documentation of the use cases of zookeeper?
What all scenarios has the technology been used both inside/ outside yahoo?

Yes. Hadoop does have a page. We will have one as soon as we are done
migrating. There's work to be done still. :)

I actually think it would be great to have a page where users can describe
briefly what they use ZooKeeper for. Doesn't Hadoop have a page like that? I
remember coming across such a page.

is a list of recipes for ZooKeeper. This is not in any way a complete
list. Its used for cconfiguration management, load distribution and also
primary/backup master detection.
As for being used inside/outside Yahoo!, its currently being used inside
Yahoo! for a number of projects mainly for configuration management,
load distribution and primary/backup master detection. There are a bunch
of non Yahoo! users. I know one of them is guys from veoh.com. Don't
remember the others but soon we should have a page to let people
update--how and who is using zookeeper to keep track of it.
