File system Crawler

Hello,

Does anyone know about a tool, which could be used for crawling the file
system. The crawler should not only list all (accessible) files, it
should also be possible to recognize when a file has been changed. It
should be periodically scan the flies system and give a list of all
changed (moved, deleted, ...) files since it's last run. 

Does anyone know about such a tool (perhaps written in java)?
