Valencian (RACV) is ready!
It's a pleasure for us to inform you that Valencian (RACV) is ready to
join the big Open Office family and start this way together.
I have tried to add a new issue but our language code is not displayed
(ca-XR). Can somebody do it for us, please?
Pootle translation is here: https://translate.apache.org/ca_XR/aoo40/
How could we download a zip file with all translation files? We want to
do a final review.
And finaly we want our translation appear in the GUI as 'Valencian
(RACV)' (under ca-XR code of course). ISO Code accepts two names
(synonyms) for the same code, Catalans don't say they speak
Catalan-Valencian, and Valencians in our region don't say we speak
Valencian-Catalan, each uses its name, it's a bit complex but we can all
be together.
Many thanks to all AOO team!

just for reference adding a new language code is a lot more than just
"copy&paste". Adding the code in pootle is pretty trivial, just need some
extra info. But in AOO itself it needd to be programmed e.g. link to
dictionaries.
I suggest you file a Bugzilla issue so the developer become aware of the
need.

Alexandro, ca-XV is the code for Valencian (AVL), this translation was
previously in the OO project some time ago and returns for this release,
and we joined AOO one month ago and code assigned for us was ca-XR for
Valencian (RACV), is this clear for you now? I think you need to add a
new line to the code to support usif not yet done (Copy&Paste) ;)
Thanks!

As Vincent wrote, we have two variants of Valencian in OpenOffice: ALV
and RACV. Both use unofficial codes (i.e., made-up codes that rely on
"private use" conventions). Those codes are:
CA_XV = Valencian (AVL)
CA_XR = Valencian (RACV)
The former is pre-existing, and often called simply "Valencian" in our
code; the latter is new, and I'll now open issues to create the language
(this needs a bit of attention, but will be discussed separately) and to
import the translation.
Regards,
Andrea.

AFAIK the code assigned for Valencian is on the CA-XV code, at least from
the latest report on the mailing list.

It may be interesting for you to know that in Lithuania we refer to your
language as simply "valensų" (i.e. "Valencian") without any further
qualification.

We'll keep this enhancement (extending list of languages in Bugzilla)
pending. I've just requested it in the QA list.
Anyway, I submitted the two issues as discussed:
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=125264
This is to add the language as an "UI language" (only) for OpenOffice.
This is the tricky one, I hope someone can implement it the right way,
i.e., like we did for ca_XV years ago.
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=125265
This is to import the translation.

Don't you see a "Translate Offline" section at
https://translate.apache.org/ca_XR/aoo40/ ?
See a screenshot at
http://people.apache.org/~pescetti/tmp/2014-07-l10n-ca-xr/
Anyway, I put the resulting ZIP file at
http://people.apache.org/~pescetti/tmp/2014-07-l10n-ca-xr/
(same URL as above)
Regards,
Andrea.
