One of my co-workers read that (after I showed him the Cayenne bits)
and freaked out -- he didn't pick up on the date.  Was pretty funny.

3.0RC2 is pretty recent, but yes, you should go ahead and upgrade to
3.0 since there were a few bug fixes.

Probably a good idea to upgrade. There were a few Modeler bug fixes  
between RC2 and final.

This does sounds ambiguous :-) There's obviously no "president of  
Cayenne", but Justin Erenkrantz is a president of Apache. Here is the  
list of Apache officers:
