Is this a Gadget issue Caching?

Is this a possible gadget xml caching issue or something else? We have
shindig running on 123.example.com and the container load balanced to
www.example.com. What happened has a piece of hardware failed so all traffic
www.example.com was going to 1 set of systems not both. We were seeing 504s
on the the shindig server.  I assumed that the gadgets were cached from the
set of servers that failed. I could be wrong. Is that a possible gadget
caching issue or something else?
