Logging in Tomcat

Hi

Does anybody out there have a link to some decent references on logging
in Tomcat?? I'm using jakarta commons logging and want to log via the
standard Tomcat logging mechanism when within Tomcat but can find no
reference to how to do this?? Am I going blind or is one of the most
obvious requirements within Tomcat the least documented?

Thanks in advance

Tim

Tomcat uses it's own logging implementation to implement e.g.
GenericServlet.log. It is documented at
http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-4.1-doc/config/logger.html. Of
course, your web-app is free to use any logging package you want (i.e.
JDK1.4-logging/commons-logging/log4j).
