The JavaSVN license requires that you also distribute source for not only
the software that uses the JavaSVN library, but also the source code for
"any accompanying software that uses the software that uses JavaSVN".

Apart from being completely unclear (there's no definition of what the
first mention of 'uses' might mean; the second is fairly well understood
by reference to derivative works), it's also way beyond what the GPL
requires, and is most definitely not GPL compatible.

Amen to that. Two good links on this subject:

   http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/opensources/book/perens.html
(search for "Do not write a new license if it is possible to use
one of the ones listed here" to see the relevant part of the page)

   http://www.dwheeler.com/essays/gpl-compatible.html
(a good essay about why GPL-compatibility is important)

You may want to consider switching to an existing license, rather than
rolling your own. When you create your own license it requires people
to spend a lot of time and effort to determine if they can make use of
your code or not. Using an existing license streamlines things quite
a bit, as the work to determine if a given license is acceptable has
likely already been done.

I will consider chaning this point in the license for the next version.
