Thanks,

Is it possible to run snapshot as auto (cron job)?

Snapshots capabilities are native to your hypervisor. ACS just uses API of hypervisors to instruct it to perform snapshot.
The most popular snapshot is disk snapshot, where disk is cloned and cloned disk copy moved to secondary storage via SSVM. This copy then can be used to produce new volume or template.

Re: How to: Snapshot

Posted by Makrand <ma...@gmail.com>.
Snapshots capabilities are native to your hypervisor. ACS just uses API of
hypervisors to instruct it to perform snapshot.
The most popular snapshot is disk snapshot, where disk is cloned and cloned
disk copy moved to secondary storage via SSVM. This copy then can be used
to produce new volume or template.

Re: How to: Snapshot

Posted by Sergey Levitskiy <Se...@autodesk.com>.
There is an article about this
http://cloud-mate.org/2015/06/enable-snapshot-kvm-cloudstack/

It seems VM snapshots are not supported in KVM. You can try tweaking a table hypervisor_capabilites and set vm_snapshot_enabled to 1 for hypervisor KVM but I doubt this will be successful. You probably are left with disk snapshots on KVM.

From what I see, it’s impossible to do snapshot on KVM while instance/VM’s still running. It’s need to stop and the icon will appear after instance/VM’s completely stop.

From what I see, it’s impossible to do snapshot on KVM while instance/VM’s still running. It’s need to stop and the icon will appear after instance/VM’s completely stop.

Hi Simon,

started to run again and now everything is working. You were right,
probably some error during the upgrade process that we didn't see.

Thanks for your help

is working fine, except the deployment of new networks

We got the follow error message:
