[GitHub] [celix] PengZheng opened a new issue #348: Another 2.2.x release for some reliability/stability improvements?

It seems that the major work currently focuses on areas such as rsa/psa/c++.
My team plan to use Celix as the foundational component framework.
When familiarizing myself with the framework's code base, I found bugs like #346.
Assuming there are more bugs that are fixable without any overall design change, it would be beneficial to do a bug fixing 2.2.2 release, so that users (including my team) can rely on this supposedly more stable release for application development.
I can spend some time fixing these bugs (and understanding the code base at the same time).

   Hi PhenZheng,

I think a new Celix release is overdue, so if there is a desire we can plan this.

IMO a 2.3.0 release is possible and 2.2.2 release is not needed.

The development concerning the C++ remote services and some other items are not stable, but I think it would be enough to default disable the building of these bundles and print a cmake warning when enabled.

Concerning the C++ development on Celix framework, I consider this not feature complete, but stable enough.

Are there any other specific issue that needs te be solved from your point of view?

Sorry for this very late reply.
I noticed several multi-threading bugs of 2.2.1 fixed in the current trunk. For example, the hash map in shell is now thread-safe. Service tracker has been redesigned around the event loop. Now I worry less about Celix's stability. However there are bugs left in my list, and I will send PRs recently.
