[jira] Created: (FELIX-43) Modify installer to determine if it is
root and install into init.d
Modify installer to determine if it is root and install into init.d
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: FELIX-43
URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FELIX-43
Project: Felix
Type: Improvement
Components: Installer
Reporter: Richard S. Hall
Assigned to: Alex Karasulu
Priority: Minor
Currently, adding the Felix daemon to init.d is disabled since we don't want to require users to be root to install Felix; however, it would be nice if the installer could recognize whether the user was root or not and then install the Felix daemon into init.d if it had sufficient privileges.
