[jira] Created: (DERBY-2246) Support a way to specify traceLevel
attribute value as symbols/hex values rather than int value inside ij url
Support a way to specify traceLevel attribute value as symbols/hex values rather than int value inside ij url
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: DERBY-2246
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-2246
Project: Derby
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: Tools
Reporter: Mamta A. Satoor
Priority: Minor
http://db.apache.org/derby/docs/10.2/adminguide/cadminappsclienttracing.html has a table that specifies various tracing levels and their corresponding hex values. In ij, there is no way to use these symbolic values or hex values in the jdbc url, instead, the user needs to use the corresponding int values. It will make this property more user-friendly, if the user had a means to use the symbolic values or the hex values inside the ij tool.
More info on this can be found at http://www.nabble.com/Specifying-the-traceLevel-property-through-ij-tf3021545.html#a8391955
