[PR] Introduce an opt-in modern NiFi workspace [nifi]

edocstudio opened a new pull request, #11816:
URL: https://github.com/apache/nifi/pull/11816

   ## Summary
Introduce an opt-in Modern workspace in the existing Angular/NgRx/D3 UI, with Classic fallback. Includes shared navigation, runtime version, compact processor/queue cards, selection inspector, scoped monitoring, viewport corrections, page-aware browser titles and manual logout confirmation.

Native editing dialogs, queue listing, history, authentication, permissions, revision conflicts and disconnected-node acknowledgement remain in use. No backend API, scheduler, repository-format or infrastructure changes are included.

   ## Review intent
Draft for design and implementation feedback. No Jira issue has been created yet; Jira linkage, contribution metadata/signature and final review scope remain outstanding. One source-only integration commit based on 3c379b46a0; private runtime files and historical working notes are excluded.

   ## Verification
   - Full NiFi frontend suite: 3,182 tests / 347 files passed.
   - Four independently extracted changes: 42 focused tests, lint and production frontend builds passed.
   - Maven packaging built all five frontend applications.
   - Installed-package smoke passed Modern dark/light desktop, Classic dark desktop and Modern 375px, without flow writes/page errors.
   - Native password logout checks passed: dismissals preserve session/focus; Confirm sends one logout request; subsequent protected API access returns 401. Automated accessibility scan of the dialog passed.
   - Synthetic fixtures were removed. Local Node 24/macOS 13 ARM64 checks used JavaScript Sass fallback.

   ## Remaining qualification
JDK 21 root contrib-check stopped at unchanged AbstractHadoopTest.testTimeoutDetection: its fixture assumes localhost:65535 is closed, but this host accepts connections. The isolated original failed again; a diagnostic with a confirmed closed port passed, and the original fixture was restored. No Hadoop changes are included.

JDK 25 frontend/dependency static validation passed; its full build was interrupted after confirming the same host precondition. Full JDK 21/25 root passes remain outstanding.

Current-layout 1,000-processor local medians: ready 756 ms Classic / 882 ms Modern; refresh 474 ms / 607 ms. Modern is slower in this comparison. Performance budgets, dense/long-session checks, manual assistive-technology review and remaining feature coverage are open. These results do not establish full feature parity or production readiness.

There will be a lot to consider but I do want to mention the 'look' is definitely really nice.

Thanks for proposing this new frontend visualization @edocstudio!

As @joewitt said, the screenshots have a good look, and this seems worth considering. However, it is important to coordinate such large-scale proposals with the project maintainers, particularly those who focus on frontend work.

To that end, all changes must follow the standard checklist prior to review, beginning with having an [Apache NiFi Jira](https://issues.apache.org/jira/projects/NIFI/issues) issue. Please file a Jira issue for this proposal, and that would be a good place to discuss the details before moving forward with the pull request proposal. Tagging @mcgilman @rfellows and @scottyaslan for potential discussion on the Jira issue after it is created.

Screenshots of the implemented UI showing the same synthetic test flow:

   1. Classic workspace
   2. Modern workspace — dark theme with queue inspector
   3. Modern workspace — light theme with queue inspector

The Modern workspace is opt-in; users can switch back to Classic.
The test flow includes a stopped source, an unconfigured sink and an empty queue, so the zero counts and validation indicators are expected.
