OpenAjax Hub as Pub-Sub Mechanism for Shindig?
Are there any plans to use OpenAjax hub in Shindig? I've seen a patch
submitted by IBM/OpenAjax folks (JIRA Shindig-1330), but are there plans
to further develop this into a fully functional feature of Shindig?
Thanks,
Ilya

We are also working to incorporate the APIs as part of the OpenSocial
specification as well. This is slated for the 1.1 release in November.
If you would like to work on the corresponding spec definition, then you
can find all the information here:
http://groups.google.com/group/opensocial-and-gadgets-spec/browse_thread/thread/398dfec8dc5c463c/d79d7513ccbbc723?show_docid=d79d7513ccbbc723
So the short answer is this:
In the next week or so, you'll have a working implementation in Shindig
that incorporates the Open Ajax Hub 2.0.
In November, you'll have an official set of APIs defined in OpenSocial
that will line up with what's in Shindig.

It's being reviewed by a handful of people at this very moment:
http://codereview.appspot.com/1247044/show
The IBM folks contributing it are keen to get it into the 2.0 release by
the
end of the week, which we're aiming to facilitate.
Please do feel free to chime in on the review as well -- your input would
be
highly welcomed.

We are in serious need to integrate our Shindig-based portal with OpenAjax
Managed Hub. Integration through implementing Pub-Sub using Managed Hub seems to
be the most logical route.
According to this link: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SHINDIG-1330 ,
certainly some serious work is being done towards incorporating OpenAjax Hub as
Pub-Sub Mechanism for Shindig. However, it's not clear on what the adoption
intention / status of the patch are. Can someone please clarify whether we can
expect this patch to be adopted any time soon?
Thanks much,
Ilya

We (yahoo) took the original pubsub and extended it, but it would certainly be worth exploring openajax's pubsub.
I had used their hub 1.0 implementation sometime back and thought it was well implemented. Hub2.0 has
many more features.
