Doug, I saw you updated the symlink pointing to the new tar.gz, but the 
symlink pointing to the open archive has disappeared. I've restored it:

ln -sf /www/perl.apache.org/dist/mod_perl-1.99_05 
/www/perl.apache.org/dist/mod_perl-2.0-current

to figure out why these links are needed look at the top of:
http://perl.apache.org/download/index.html
see the [browse] and [download] buttons.
