UPDATE: Also with Java 8u16 it's not working. Is there any manual way to fix
the issue?

AFAIK you need to make sure to use the Oracle JDK
This is no issue of Karaf. So please make sure you do as mentioned before.
We are no supporting crew for Oracle or OpenJDK JDK issues.

The only workaround is to switch to Oracle JDK instead of OpenJDK. It
looks like a regression in OpenJDK. I try to find a workaround.
It works fine with 1.8.0_20 from Oracle.
