[jira] Commented: (AXIS-1384) add Axis jars and war to apache.org/dist/java-repository

       Body:
Isn't the axis-1_2beta/webapps/axis/ directory the equivalent of a war file? Deploying it is as such is mentioned in the users guide, so it seems like a very standard procedure.

I embed Axis inside of my ear file, and I'd imagine that a lot of others do the same -- and including this war would be a great help.

Here is an overview of the issue:

        Key: AXIS-1384
Summary: add Axis jars and war to apache.org/dist/java-repository
       Type: Improvement

     Status: Closed
   Priority: Minor
 Resolution: FIXED

    Project: Axis

Description:
I'm a Maven user. Although Axis 1.2 beta was released a while back, it is still not available on the public Maven repository at ibiblio.org/maven/axis. This is probably because no users have taken the initiative to request it yet.

Fairly recently, the apache.org/dist/java-repository directory was created, which is mirrored to ibiblio every 4 hours. My proposal is to place the Axis jars for 1.2 beta into this directory, as well as the Axis webapp.

I'm a committer and will do this if no one objects. It would be great if this could be done each time a new Axis version is released, this way
Maven users can simply update their version in their descriptor and start using the new version right away.
