[jira] [Created] (IMPALA-15587) Detect number of CPU cores that Impala can actually run on
Joe McDonnell created IMPALA-15587:
--------------------------------------
Summary: Detect number of CPU cores that Impala can actually run on
Key: IMPALA-15587
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMPALA-15587
Project: IMPALA
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: Backend
Affects Versions: Impala 5.0.0
Reporter: Joe McDonnell
With taskset and other tools, Impalas can be bound to specific cores. The current logic in cpu-info.cc does not detect this, but this would be useful to know for diagnostics and running the right number of threads. We can get this information using sched_getaffinity().
