VNC Repeater error

I'm trying to configure Guacamole to use the Ultra VNC Repeater.  I have
configured the VNC connection in Guacamole as follows:

Network hostname/port - repeater host IP, port 5901
VNC Repeater destination host/port - ID <repeater ID>

I've checked that the repeater is working using VNC server and client

When I try to connect the Guacamole connection to the repeater, I see errors
in syslog, main error is:

  Not a valid VNC repeater (RFB 003.008#012)

anyone know what may be wrong?
