I started the server as follows
java org.apache.derby.drda.NetworkServerControl start -p 1527 -h 0.0.0 -noSecurityManager
and on the client side though ij ran the following commands
ij>connect 'jdbc:derby://mkutty-ibm-lt3:1527/ipv6db;create=true';
--You have to give the host name. the use of local host didn't reproduce this problem
ij>create table tab1(col1 bigint,col2 blob,col3 char, col4 char for bit data,col5 clob, col6 date, col7 decimal, col8 double, col9 double precision, col10 float, col11 integer,col12 long varchar, col13 long varchar for bit data, col14 numeric, col15 real, col16 smallint, col17 time, col18 timestamp, col19 varchar, col20 varchar(3214) for bit data);
run the sql with syntax error for "n " number of times. I got the error in 2 and 3 and 9 try.
Then got the following error
ERROR 58009: A communications error has been detected: Connection reset by peer:
socket write error
Then ij lost the connection.
Note: It may be little difficult to reproduce the problem, but I could reproduce it more than 4 times. But not always.
