number of store files and compaction

Hi folks,

If hbase.hregion.majorcompaction has been set to 0, which disables major compaction,
will hbase.hstore.blockingStoreFiles still take effect? If it still
kicks in, does it trigger a minor compaction or major one?

Another question is about hbase.hstore.blockingWaitTime. If it is
set to a short interval, the updates will be carried out while the
compaction is still in process. Will that cause any issue? Thanks.

Regards,

Libo

bq. will hbase.hstore.blockingStoreFiles still take effect?

Yes.

bq. does it trigger a minor compaction or major one

Minor compaction, unless all store files are selected where the compaction
becomes major.
