Embedded Driver

I like derby very much and I am doing some test with the embedded driver. I try to load a table with 1.8 millon record and made a java application using netbeans. I got an out of memory error message at run time. Try again with fewer records (8000) and got it working. Is there a limit of records for the DB? Please help me. Thanks.

You will need to commit the inserts at intervals to avoid running out
of memory.  There is no fixed limit to the number of rows.
