Movement of log4jMini to sandbox:
----- comments from carnold at apache.org --------------------------
I moved log4jMini to the sandbox since it appeared to be an
independent product from log4j, that is it had its own release cycle,
didn't contribute to the log4j distributions, etc. The sandbox is
the place for experiments or efforts that might become full fledged
products with PMC support behind them. I don't think log4jMini fits
into that category yet.
------- end comment ------------------------------------------
Ralph Curtis:
I am raising this bug to address the problem that log4jMini (log4j limited
embedded version) is in need of an overhaul. It needs to be brought more in
line with the main project to make it more compatible. Better compatibility
will support portability of software using log4j from J2SE to J2ME (CDC). Among
other things, log4jMini is still using Category instead of Logger class.
log4jMini can now be found in the sandbox at:
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/logging/sandbox/log4j/log4jMini
I will address this issue with a log4jMini patch in the very near future.
