[jira] [Created] (HADOOP-13090) Access any number of rows in a map operation at once

Suman Somasundar created HADOOP-13090:
-----------------------------------------

Summary: Access any number of rows in a map operation at once
                 Key: HADOOP-13090
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-13090
             Project: Hadoop Common
          Issue Type: Improvement
            Reporter: Suman Somasundar

Allowing a mapper to access n rows at a time will help SIMD computing.
Also, this may reduce the number of intermediate writes to the HDFS and will help in improving the performance of the application.
