SSL over proxy: coming soon?

I hear that some Axis and SOAP users were asking about using HTTPS over
proxy. I just looked at the cvs snapshots to make sure (I wrote the SSL
support for Axis), and I can tell you that support for SSL over proxy is
*not* included in either 2.1 or Axis. Support for tunneling is "included"
in the JSSE implementation of HttpsURLConnection, which we can't use (as
per Chris Nelson's comments many moons ago) and even this might be
dependent on what type of proxy you have, and at least doesn't work on my
LAN (I get the "Can't tunnel through proxyName. Returns 200" message).

I can get around to adding this support to Axis (in the same neat
JSSE-platform-independent way). But it might be much less pretty in 2.1
(someone else want to get on this one?).
