Powered by Calcite

Quite a few projects have a “powered by” logo that projects/products can use on their site, and a list on their own site of projects/products that use the project.

Is it worth doing this for Calcite?

All we have now is a list of adapters http://calcite.apache.org/docs/adapter.html <http://calcite.apache.org/docs/adapter.html> but we don’t yet have some other Apache projects (Samza and SamzaSQL, Storm, Flink), non-Apache projects (Qubole Quark) and products (NGData Lily).

How easy is it to persuade commercial products to come forward?

Julian

I have created https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CALCITE-1112 <https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CALCITE-1112> to track this. If you are interested in having your project or product appear on the initial “powered by” page, please add a comment to that JIRA case.

WRT to Quark and extrapolating to new-ish projects, a "Powered By" logo is
useful. The first question I am asked is the stability/naivety of the
optimizer. I point to Calcite and the projects/companies behind it. It
definitely helps in developers taking us (quark devs) seriously.
