Encoding characters UTF-8

Hi,
Last 10 hours I spent on lerning of pdfBox. This library is great but I have
been some problems ... Could you tell me if there it possible to use UTF-8? I
need the Polish characters but can not find any possibility to put them into
my pdf file. I tried to write new encoding but the result is a blank page:

I know my engilsh is terrible...
