Jquery ajax equivalent of t curl based document update

Hello,

I have spent more than 3 days to find out the answer but I could not. I did
not find a list of parameters in the documentation that can be used in
jquery AJAX to update a raw xml document.
I would like to use this code template:

$.ajax({
  type: "POST",
  url: url,
  data: data,
  success: success,
  dataType: dataType
});

to implement the following xml index update
curl http://localhost:8983/solr/update?commit=true -H "Content-Type:
text/xml" --data-binary '<add><doc><field
name="id">testdoc</field></doc></add>'.

I would like to know only the data parameter.

Do you know any documents which list all the parameters for update requests
in case of post method?
