Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: MAVEN-1290
Summary: UNIX style absolute path resolves relatively on Windows (XP)
Type: Bug
Status: Closed
Priority: Major
Resolution: FIXED
Original Estimate: Unknown
Time Spent: Unknown
Remaining: Unknown
Project: maven
Components:
core
Fix Fors:
1.0
Versions:
1.0-rc3
Assignee: Brett Porter
Reporter: Graham Triggs
Created: Fri, 21 May 2004 5:04 AM
Updated: Thu, 1 Jul 2004 8:47 AM
Environment: Windows XP, Sun JDK 1.4.2_04
Description:
We use absolute file paths in our project.xml / project.properties files, and use the UNIX style as we need our environment to be portable across platforms.
Using Maven 1.0-rc3 on Windows, it is resolving these references relatively - for example:
maven.repo.local=/StdEnv/MLIBS
will result in Maven trying to locate the repository in a StdEnv/MLIBS subdirectory of the current project, not from the root of the drive, as it did previously.
