Yes, the final product will.

I'm guessing that the finished product will likely be in Photoshop
format with layers, allowing us to create PNGs of the desired
resolution at will.

The deliverable will be very high resolution, so we'll be able to cut
it for whatever purpose we need.

Hi,
sorry, one last thing:
one time found the new logo, will it be possible to have it also with
background transparent, for icons ?

And maybe in most common formats, like PNG, and in many resolutions ?
And also an SVG version (readable by Inkscape) could help a lot ... so
anyone could then generate the required resolution.

Bye

Sure, once the finished product is checked in, you're welcome to
derive variants from it using your graphic editor of choice...

Hi Todd,

Yes, but this could help to use or derive variants ...

Using a purchased graphics editor doesn't preclude us from open
sourcing the graphic.

I've actually found a graphic designer that's willing to work on this
for free (just to beef up his portfolio). I'll update the JIRA issue
as the work progresses, and everyone's encouraged to add their
feedback to the ticket.

Thanks,
